Every incarcerated person in a local correctional facility has the right to file grievances under 9 NYCRR Part 7032. Retaliation is prohibited.
5-day filing deadline
Grievances should be filed within 5 days of the incident. Submitting here locks in your date with a time-stamped external record that the facility cannot lose or ignore.
3-level appeal
If denied, you can appeal to the CAO (2 business days) and then to the NYS Commission of Correction (3 business days).
